Hal Miles, President and CEO of the Animation Hall of Fame, is honored and excited to announce the donation of the life’s work of the late Animator, Director, Producer David Dodd Hand (1900-1986) by his son David Hale Hand.

David Hand’s long career started in the heyday of the birth of animation and its explosion into the everyday life of people all over the world.

First working for Bray Studios; then Fleischer Studios in New York City, he then quickly rose through the ranks at the Disney Studios to become the Supervising Director of SNOW WHITE AND THE SEVEN DWARFS and BAMBI, and PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR, answering only to Walt, a stellar achievement.  He had his hand in the development of all films at Disney from 1930 – 1944.  Then he impacted Europe by heading the GB Animation Studio with J. Arthur Rank, the major British animation studio and school of the time.  Before he retired, he went on to producing and directing for the Alexander Film Company in Colorado.

The Animation Hall of Fame is a 501c3 nonprofit organization.  This major donation of Art and Artifacts enhances the Animation Hall of Fame existing worldwide collection and extends its historical archives even further; helping to fulfill our goal of preservation & education on the history and continuing significance of animation throughout the world and the people who create and inspire it.

A successful end to the 2012 Savannah International Animation Festival! We had visitors as far away as Canada and this year 28 filmmakers attended. AHOF had the support of over 14 local and international businesses and 10 workshops and lectures. Best of all was the comments from the attendees from attendees -- from "Awesome!" to "Inspiring!" to "How did they do that?" to "I want to create now!" Next year is only 362 days away!!
