The Animation Hall Of Fame family is sad to acknowledge the passing of the renowned artist John Burton “Jack” Davis Jr on July 27th, 2016. Most of you may know him as Jack Davis from his work as one of the founding members of Mad Magazine. He got his start at E. C. Comics, and his comic credits include Tales From the Crypt and Mark Trail. His illustrations could be found on the covers of TV Guide, Time magazine, records and film posters. In addition to product design for games, sports illustrations, and bold caricatures, Jack also contributed to the world of animation. He worked with Rankin Bass and his character designs were used for the King Kong show, Coneheads, and the Jackson 5. He worked with Phil Kimmelman on various commercials, which we are proud to have examples of in the Animation Hall Of Fame archives. We express our deepest condolences to his family and friends.
